This quilt was made for the Endangered Species exhibit at the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, Massachusetts. It won an honorable mention at Maine Quilts ‘02 and is featured in the book, Quilt of America: Stories of Americans and Quilts by Carole J. Gariepy, 2002.
The quilt is my own design and is made of a wide variety of 100% cotton fabrics. It is extensively thread painted with rayon and cotton threads. The cheeks on the mother and baby have extra batting to give dimension and the whiskers are hand-sewn with metallic thread.
Sold and in a private collection.
