Marsh Grass

I started with a painted background and then added the marsh grasses in the foreground.
I love how the sun glows on the water.
This was inspired by a picture of the marsh near my home.
Traps and Rocks
9 x 12 piece mounted in a 13×17 shadowbox

Rocks are painted and then stitched to get the shadows and variations. Traps were made from tulle with cork buoys and rope. Also included crushed shells and seaweed.
Forest Path to Katahdin

This started as an exercise in vertical lines from an original photo of Katahdin Mountain in Maine. I emphasized the vertical and horizontal path lines with color and stitching.

Best in Show! Maine Women in the Arts 2013 Annual Awards show
This piece was part of a 5-part display where each artist got a slice of a picture to interpret. The five pieces hung together and traveled to several exhibit locations. When I got it back, I decided it could hang alone and entered it into the MWA Awards show. It won First in the Fiber category, Best in Show and sold!
